My Pirate and Mermaid!!

Every year I photograph my kids in the studio prior to trick or treating!
I think pictures of children in costume is one of the cutest things!!
My kids love to dress up,
usually there are multiple costumes for Halloween,
so why not capture that moment!

I had the pleasure to work with this couple and their family in Tofino...one of my favorite places. I was surprised to learn that the entire group was from the East Coast, even the couple who are recent additions to Vancouver!
Wow, what a great family! Anyone I have ever met from the East Coast has the most wonderful sense of humor and these people did not let me down! Combined with a couple who was more than willing to have a little fun, take some risks (that cliff was a bit scary) and get dirty...makes for a fantastic day!

I am crossing fingers that I get to work with them all again on the East Coast next year for Susan's brother's wedding!!!
Nope, I haven't forgot!!!

For me two words describe this couple and their wedding...

Family and Happiness!!

Scott and Jo have one of the sweetest stories that
I've heard in awhile...(simply put)
High School classmates
...I asked "why didn't you nab her then?"
...Scott tells me "oh Treena, she was untouchable
...just look at her"
So years later when they are both at the High School reunion,
Scott worked up the courage and finally approached Jo
...and the result, two beautiful families joined together!

It was a pleasure to meet and photograph
this couple and their family!

Jesse and Gina obliged me and agreed to their portrait session in downtown Nanaimo! I have been really wanting to do something more "urban" and WOW, was it ever fun!!

I think they were both surprised and pleased to enjoy a glass of ale while we were doing the photographs!!

The beach is great...but sometimes is nice to have fun in another playground!!

Every time that we go back to Alberta, we miss it!!!

The prairies are my stomping grounds!
This is the skyline that I grew up with!

However, once we got close to the coast again and
I could smell the ocean,
I knew we were home!

It was a great trip and a promise to do it again soon!

We went to Banff, one of my favorite places, celebrated our 15th anniversary, my little girl learnt how to ride her bike, spent time with my two nieces, seen the new baby giraffe at the Calgary Zoo...only 4 days old, the kids played hard everyday and had black feet to show for it, my hubby won his division of disc golf and proudly brought home an egg plus some cash and a whole lot of stories,
and I got to meet this little man...Matthew and of course spend time with his mommy and daddy!

Fantastic!!

You might have noticed that the last few entries have all been made on the same day!
Its a bloggin blitz because we are off and away to Alberta!
My hubby is meeting the boys and going to throw a frisbee around the hoodoo's (aka big party). The kids and I are going to visit my nieces and one of my very dearest friends
who's new little man I am finally going meet!

This great bride was a trooper...hiking in a wedding dress,
fighting with burrs and climbing mountains!!

But wow...I think you will agree it was worth it!

We got some extraordinary images and I had so much fun with them!
Plus I think I pretty much have her convinced to do a

Fly a kite, eat ice cream and go to the park...a birthday wish!

My mom always said that time passed more quickly as you get older!!
Well, that is apparently true, because I am absolutely sure it was just
last week that I held this little girl in my arms and her feet barely
reached the other side on me!

Shinobu and Lorne

This lovely lady is so beautiful and this family makes me smile from ear to ear!!
What a great combination.

Last year it was Carrie and Robin's wedding and this year I was fortunate to be
asked to photograph Lorne and Shinobu this time!
You know when you meet really "quality" people and its is just such an
absolute pleasure...well that is this family!

My only regret...
Is that I wasn't with them in Japan for the ceremony there...wow!!

We took our Fifth Wheel on its Maiden voyage to Tofino!

The kids love to camp and so everyone packed up and came along with me to Tofino
so that I could photograph a wedding and engagement session!

So on Saturday I woke up and headed out to photograph
Marla and Aaron's wedding!

Everyone at this wedding was from Alberta and France....I love destination weddings...yahoo!!

Then once the sun started to set on the day, I met up with
Kristen and Bryan on the beach and did a really cool session with them!!

And then back to the campground to have marshmallows with my kids and hubby!!
You know, I don't think a day at the office gets much better than this!!

There was definitely a theme here!! What a fantastic couple and family! I had a great time with these two, there was alot of laughter all around.

Stephanie had a dance recital a couple of weeks ago and she is just so cute and amazing! She has absolutely no fear of getting up in front of a bunch of people and dancing her little feet off!
Highland music and dance has been part of my life as far back as I can remember, it is great to see this little girl love dancing so much!

Pas de Bas and Highcuts
...she breaks out in them at the store, waiting to go in the tub,
basically at any given moment. It is just too darn cute!

Living and working in a destination location for weddings is pretty neat!! Alot of my couples are from out of province. It is really great to meet people from all over the world...yup, have even photographed couples from the UK, USA and Asia.

Magdalena & David....and family!!

A sweet close knit family, here from Alberta. So, although my little bride was shivering so badly, she braved the elements and had me photograph them at the beach! They make them tough on the prairies.

Some days I can't believe how lucky I am to do the job that I do!! I get to meet wonderful people on the happiest day of their lives and photograph them in such a beautiful and dramatic location!

Babes and Bunnies was another fantastic success!!
I get such a kick out of how much fun the kids have...even with a little hesitation at the start, they always warm up to the bunnies and don't want to leave!!

595 images later, the bunnies are ready for home and the kids have a memory that will last a lifetime...priceless!!!

Fantastic Couple + Amazing Weather =
Awesome Wedding Shoot!!

I am officially a big fan of February weddings!! Granted, I had a wonderful couple to work with who are so completely and obviously in love with each other and Mother Nature really gave us her absolute best, just look at that sky!

Erin and Paul - you are why I love my job!!

Erin you literally glowed from the inside out and Paul, thankyou so much for your lovely compliment...your confidence in me means alot and I think it is apparent in the shots...thankyou for trusting me with such an important and beautiful day!!

I had so much fun photographing this couple. It was my first wedding of the year and what a way to start it off!!

Happy New Year!!! yep I'm a little late!!

One of my New Year's resolutions is to update my blog at least monthly!!
So, although I'm just hanging onto January...here we go.
We decided to do something different for Christmas this year, we packed the kids up and headed to Mexico for two weeks. What a fantastic experience!!
Fun in the sun, my first time snorkeling, spending time with the kids, Mayan ruins, New Year's with great friends...just a few of the highlights. Here are a couple of pictures from our trip and actually Stephanie (my daughter) took way more than I did, a photographer in the making!
